Hereโs an opportunity to participate in a 5-year project for abaca-based Wearables and Homestyle producers in our VCA Multi-Fiber group in the city as well as farmers and other MSMEs in the abaca value chain in neighboring provinces. I witnessed the official signing of the Partnership Agreement for the Fiber for the Future project in the Philippines which covers Northern Mindanao, Davao and CARAGA Regions.
The aim of the partnership is to transform the abaca value chain in Mindanao into a strong, efficient and resilient value chain that offers employment and a stable and diversified income to farmers and their communities. To reach this, Woord en Daad joined forces with Kennemer Foods International and Agronomika Finance Cooperation, all of The Netherlands, with the Department of Agrarian Reform and the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority in a partnership as part of the SDGP program of RVO and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
SBIR will be following Fiber for the Future as we see a course in Abaca here much like our CDO Coffee one. We will also post information on how our MSMEs can participateโso stay tuned.
