Today, Cagayan de Oro City welcomed the Halal Lane Launching Caravan led by the Department of Trade and Industry Region X and Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, in partnership with the Misamis Oriental Retailers Association (MISORRA) and its member supermarkets.
Representing Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy at the ceremonial launch was Atty. Jose Edgardo Uy, Chairperson of the City Price Coordinating Council and Regulatory Compliance Board. Atty. Uy reaffirmed the cityโs commitment to inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and sustainable economic opportunities.

The event held on July 4, 2025 features Halal-certified products prominently displayed in Halal Lanes across participating supermarkets in the city–initially Ororama Superstore, Shopwise, Merry Mart, and Puregoldโan initiative aligned by City Ordinance No. 14477-2023, which promotes the use and visibility of Halal-certified goods.

Engage business and community stakeholders

Strengthen consumer confidence and food security
