For the second year in a row, Cagayan de Oro has been recognized as the Most Innovative Highly Urbanized City in Region 10 under the 2025 Amihanang Mindanao Breakthrough Innovations and Technologies (AMBIT) Awards.
The recognition was based on the cityโs strong performance in the innovation pillar of the Department of Trade and Industryโs 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI). It underscores the cityโs ongoing efforts to champion innovation and sustainable development in Northern Mindanao.
Receiving the award on behalf of Mayor Rolando A. Uy was Mr. John W. Asuncion, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer, during the Northern Mindanao Regional Innovation Program and Exhibit (NorMinRIPE) 2025 held at Robinsons Place Event Center in Iligan City on April 22.
The AMBIT Awards, spearheaded by the Regional Development Council – X through the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC-X), honor standout innovation actors contributing to regional progress.
